All New Altroz

With the launch of the all-new 2025 Tata Altroz, Tata Motors has upped the ante, introducing a refreshed aesthetic, a more sophisticated interior and a host of new-age features. This comprehensive update aims to solidify the Altroz’s position as a top choice for discerning Indian car buyers.

Designed to Dazzle: A Closer Look at the All-New Altroz Aesthetics

The 2025 Altroz retains its fundamentally appealing silhouette but incorporates several key changes to bring a fresh and modern look. The front fascia sees the most significant updates featuring a newly designed bumper with more pronounced cuts and creases around the side vents and fog lamp housings. The headlamp shape remains similar but the internals are new and the top trims now boast LED fog lamps. The side profile also receives attention with new doors showcasing softer lines and a slimmer iteration of the black band underlining the windows, resulting in a cleaner aesthetic. A notable addition is the flush-fitting front door handles which, while adding to the sleekness, might require a firm press to operate. However, some might feel that the slim 185-section tires detract slightly from the hatchback’s stance. The rear styling has been revamped with a new bumper and while the tail-lamp housing remains unchanged, it now features slim LED lighting. A standout element on the top models is the connected LED light bar that enhances the visual appeal, similar to what’s seen on the Hyundai Venue.

Drenched in Desire: The Captivating Color Palette of the Tata Altroz

The 2025 Altroz is available in five captivating color options: Dune Glow, Ember Glow, Pristine White, Pure Grey and Royal Blue, each associated with distinct personas across the variant lineup.

Experience the Difference: Inside the Feature-Packed Tata Altroz

Stepping inside the new Altroz, you are greeted by a redone interior that feels more premium. The dashboard has a cleaner layout and the car now features a two-spoke steering wheel similar to the Tata Nexon. The top-spec models boast dual digital screens: a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The feature list is extensive, including a single-pane sunroof, an air purifier, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, cruise control, ambient lighting, 90-degree opening doors for ease of ingress and egress, automatic headlights and wipers and a 360-degree camera with dynamic guidelines. Higher variants also get a wireless smartphone charger, rear defogger, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. Storage inside the cabin is well-thought-out with a generously sized glovebox, 1-liter bottle holders in all doors and a storage space in the center armrest. The boot space remains a class-leading 345 litres and impressively, even the CNG versions offer a usable 210 litres of boot space thanks to Tata’s twin-cylinder technology.

Engine and Performance

The 2025 Tata Altroz offers a variety of powertrain options to cater to different preferences:

  • 1.2-liter Naturally Aspirated Petrol: Produces 88 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque. It is now available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a new 5-speed AMT along with the existing 6-speed DCT option on select variants.
  • 1.5-liter Diesel: Delivers 90 PS of power and a torquey 200 Nm. It is currently available only with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Altroz remains the only hatchback in its segment to offer a diesel engine.
  • 1.2-liter Petrol + CNG: This bi-fuel option provides 73.5 PS of power and 103 Nm of torque when running on CNG paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The turbo-petrol engine option available in the Altroz Racer has been dropped for now. Reviews suggest that the naturally aspirated petrol engine with the new AMT offers a more convenient driving experience, especially in city traffic. The diesel engine is praised for its strong low-end torque, making it suitable for both city and highway driving, although it can get noisy under load. The CNG variant allows for starting directly in CNG mode and offers a viable option for those prioritizing low running costs.

Ride and Handling

The suspension setup effectively absorbs bumps and potholes providing a comfortable ride especially at higher speeds. While there is a slight firmness noticeable at low speeds, the overall ride quality is commendable. The highway manners are confident, making it a capable car for longer journeys.

5-Star Protection, Standard: Experience the Safe Altroz

Safety remains a cornerstone of the Tata Altroz. It was the first hatchback to achieve a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP and the 2025 facelift is expected to uphold these standards. The new Altroz comes equipped with six airbags as standard along with ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat anchors, rear parking sensors and more. The facelift also reinforces the side structure with head protection which has undergone rigorous side pole crash testing.

Altroz 2.0: Where Style Meets Substance, Elevated.

With its sharper styling, upgraded interior, a host of new features including dual digital screens and a 360-degree camera and the continued emphasis on safety, the new Altroz is poised to attract buyers looking for a premium, safe and feature-rich hatchback. The introduction of the AMT option with the petrol engine further broadens its appeal.
